“no better place to restore your soul”

What a delight to spend some time on Pender Island at Corbett house. John and Eve were so warm and welcoming, the food was totally divine and the house charming, comfortable and every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of. We felt truly spoiled and pampered – would not hesitate to go back, in fact, are planning to make it a regular get-away. If anyone has stress or difficulty in their life, this is the place to come to.

“Relaxing, rejuvenating”

I had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Corbett house. The bedrooms were beautiful and John and Eve made us so welcome. The breakfasts were superb! Perfect spot for a short break.

“A gorgeous get-away!!”

Thought I’d explore Pender Island by bike and found a perfect spot to overnight..in fact we stayed two nights…Our room, which had a extremely comfy queen bed and our own bathroom was overlooking a most beautiful orchard and rustic pond. We had a nice visit with Eve & John over afternoon tea before we toured.and enjoyed dinner at nearby Hope Bay restaurant….. a quiet sleep was followed by a most amazing breakfast at the unique glass topped table in the sunfilled dining room…………..couldn’t have been better!!!!!!!

“Wonderful Weekend Getaway!”

What a wonderful experience on Pender! Such a charming, quaint house with gorgeous rooms that you almost didn’t want to leave! The service was great, the hosts make you feel instantly welcomed and comfortable.

“A “must” experience…”

On arrival we were greeted by two of the absolute loveliest people …our host and hostess, John and Eve. They were beyond thoughtful and always concerned for our comfort or needs. Eve, together with her sidekick and biggest fan John, turns out the most incredibly prepared and beautifully presented breakfasts I’ve EVER had to pleasure to lay eyes on at or devour. I took a picture of our last breakfast to show family because nothing I could say would do justice to Eve’s culinary brilliance! Every breakfast was a testiment to Eve’s joy of cooking and her wish to ensure the enjoyment of her guests. Corbett House is located in a wonderfully peaceful valley and the quiet was just heaven! What a fabulous way to end our vacation! I can’t thank John and Eve enough for creating such an awesome memory for us!

“Heavenly breakfasts, beautiful room”

I had a fantastic time staying at Corbett House, enjoying the warmth, style and generous hospitality of innkeepers, John and Eve Pollard. Such tranquil sleeps in the big comfy bed with crisp, line-dried linens! And such delicious breakfasts that would have some or many of the following: coffee, juice, fresh-baked treats like cinnamon rolls, savoury items such as omelettes or Eggs Benny, and probably the lightest, most scrumptious pancakes I’ve ever eaten in my life. The location of Corbett House worked well for me since I caught a seaplane flight onto Pender. From the B&B, I biked around to swimming beaches and also walked over to Hope Bay where there’s a restaurant, shops and pizzeria.

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED! Corbett House was the perfect getaway for 2 good friends/busy mothers who were hoping for some rest and relaxation. We cannot say enough about John and Eve, the delicious and hearty breakfasts, the clean and elegant home and the peace and quiet. We enjoyed happy hour in the orchard watching the sun set with the sheep grazing behind us. We walked the beautiful quiet roads. We took advantage of every suggestion given by John and Eve and we are so thankful we did because we chanced upon an unexpected sighting of 12+ beautiful orcas. It was just what the doctor ordered and I would truly love to bring my husband back for a visit. Thank you so much John, Eve and Lucy!

Just spent two fabulous days and nights at Corbett House. It was, without a doubt, the best Bed and Breakfast that we have stayed at for a long time.

The ambiance of the place, the beautiful furnishings, the fabulous breakfasts and the afternoon and evening teas, made this a getaway destination that I would highly recommend and one we thoroughly enjoyed.

We cannot begin to say enough about our hosts, John and Eve (and of course little Lucy), whose wonderful hospitality made this a very special retreat.

  • From a very warm welcome upon arrival to hugs when we departed, our weekend at John and Eve’s Corbett House Country Inn could not have been better. It felt like we spent the weekend with long time friends and was our best time ever at a B&B.
Everything was cozy and comfortable and the breakfasts superb.

Oh yeah, we also saw a pod of 20 or more Orcas swim by.

  • What a wonderful and relaxing visit. the house was lovely and the art work in every room is beautiful – Eve’s photos and some of their daughter’s paintings. The food was fresh and delicious and as good as any NYC restaurant.
John and Eve were friendly and warm and helped us find whatever we wanted to do on the island. we highly recommend it and hope to come back ourselves for another relaxing visit.

What a wonderful break from China it was, to stay in a beautifully restored farm house in an idyllic setting and Eve’s breakfast was the most elegant and delicious we’ve ever eaten.

    Hi Eve and John:
We want to add to the list of comments our praise about you, the lovely, warm welcoming couple who put us at ease immediately, and also Eve’s tasty and generous breakfast. In completely refurbishing Corbett House, you preserved so many beautiful aspects of the home that we really got the feeling that this was a lovely piece of history. And there were so many other enjoyable pieces of art and tasteful decorations throughout. We particularly enjoyed lounging in a sunny morning in wicker chairs on your front veranda, sipping coffee while looking out across the fields to Saturna Island, or chatting in hot afternoons on your west patio overlooking your orchard. Our stay was so restful and re-invigorating, almost like a dream or fantasy. When you’re next in Vancouver, please look us up.

    Eve and John –

Thank you for opening your doors to us last September even though you had officially closed for the season. Alas, our stay was only for two nights, but we enjoyed your accommodations, cuisine and conversation. So good to have met you both and we hope to come for another visit soon!

  • Corbett House Country Inn is the BEST place to relax and forget about the stresses of the city. Eve and John are gracious hosts and I left Corbett house feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and stress-free. I enjoyed walking to Hope Bay, lounging in the orchard, and reading books in the comfortable living room at night. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Corbett House to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, and comfortable stay on Pender Island.

    Thank you!
